Fredrick Duarte, Kansas City, Kansas
Let me tell you all about my trip to the Amigoni Urban Winery! It was a whirlwind of delicious flavors, mesmerizing views, and relaxing ambiance. It’s tucked away in the West Bottoms of Kansas City, and it felt like stumbling upon a hidden gem in the heart of the city.
First things first – the building. The winery is set in an old, refurbished structure, boasting interesting architecture with views to match. I mean, wine barrels behind glass walls? That’s some character right there! The tasting room may not be colossal, but it oozes comfort and intimacy. I couldn’t help but appreciate the fact that they’ve breathed new life into this piece of history.
Once inside, I was greeted by the exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable staff. They not only serve the wine but share the stories behind them, their notes, and their origins. The service was top-notch, to say the least. Also, can I just gush about the decor a bit? It gives off both vintage and modern vibes, the perfect balance of old and new. The place was spotless, and the decor was relaxing and mellow, adding to the overall comforting atmosphere.
Now, onto the main event – the wines! They have a nice selection, leaning more towards the California style, which I found surprisingly delightful even though my preference usually sways towards sweet Italian. But hey, exploring new flavors is all part of the fun, right? I sampled a couple of reds and, I gotta say, they were something!
But it’s not just about the wines. They also sell local cheese which, paired with a bottle of their finest, makes for the perfect evening. Whether you’re there for a quiet wine tasting, a family gathering, or even hosting a special event in their Barrel Room, like I witnessed during my visit, you’re bound to have a memorable experience.
The place fills up pretty fast, so it’s great to see they’ve managed their space well, even including an upstairs area, a large back room, and an outdoor patio. I can only imagine how lovely it’d be to sip some fine wine out there when the weather is nice.
In short, Amigoni Urban Winery offers more than just a wine tasting – it’s an experience, an atmosphere, and a journey into the world of wines. I know I’ll be back, and I wholeheartedly recommend this place to others.

Oh boy, where to start about KC Wineworks! This place is like an oasis of joy for all the wine lovers out there! The atmosphere alone can make you fall in love, with its warm, friendly, and inviting vibes. My pal, Martha, just wouldn’t stop raving about the Strawberry Fields cocktail, it was like a trip to heaven for her taste buds! And I couldn’t agree more, the drinks are to die for.🍷
From the moment you step foot inside, you are welcomed by the most friendly staff. A gem among them, Lindsay, really knows how to guide you through your wine journey, and trust me, you will enjoy every second of it. It’s not just about sipping the wine; it’s about understanding and appreciating the art of wine-making.
If you’re anything like my friend Tye, who is quite picky about wines, the Norton Reserve will be a pleasant surprise. I’m telling you, the wine here is top-notch!🍇
My buddy, Haley, decided to try out their wine tasting and was so impressed with each wine’s depth that she couldn’t help but bring home a can of Sangria. And let’s not forget the mango slush, a perfect drink for the summer days. Not too sweet, just the right touch of sugary delight. 🥂
Planning an event? This is your spot! Another friend, Diana, hosted her sister’s bachelorette party here, and it was nothing short of fantastic. The staff made it so easy to reserve the tasting and ensured that everything ran smoothly. A little birdie told me that the Crossroads After Dark event is a must-attend! 🥳
Now let’s talk about the people. The folks at KC Wineworks are simply the best! “Lisa” had the nicest things to say about every staff member she interacted with. The calm atmosphere, paired with kind-hearted people and delectable wines, makes you want to stay longer and come back as soon as you can! 🌟
My little escapade to KC Wineworks was a joy ride, filled with memorable moments, delightful wines, and above all, warm hospitality. I can’t wait to go back and see what new experiences await! 🍾

Jewell Castaneda, Kansas City, Missouri
Hey y’all! 🙌 Let me tell you about my favorite spot in town: the KC Wine Co. 🍷 I’ve been there a few times (OK, more than a few 😜), and each time was an absolute blast! The vibes? Impeccable! The winery’s got this airy, open space that really hits the spot for relaxing. There’s nothing like lounging around on the lawn, sipping their top-notch wines, ciders, and beers. A friend of mine, Pranay, doesn’t even like wine, but he enjoyed their lager. 🍺
I’m a sucker for live music 🎶 and let me tell you, KC Wine Co delivers. I even caught a trivia night there once and the atmosphere was buzzing. Their food trucks are something to look forward to, too! 🍔 Although they mainly come by on the weekends, you’re more than welcome to bring your own nibbles.
But it’s not just about the wine and food. KC Wine Co is a family-friendly spot. Anastasia told me about the Bingo nights they’ve got going on which is a real crowd-pleaser for her clan. They also host events and activities but be warned: not all are as they seem. Take it from Niki who was a bit disappointed by their dog event 🐾 (note: Easter eggs hunts here aren’t just for kids, adults are invited to partake in the fun too! 🐣).
And hey, if you’re into more laid-back fun, you’re gonna love it here. My buddy Krystle-lee talked about the “fun wine vibe” and she wasn’t wrong. Imagine chilling with your friends, playing yard games and soaking up the sun… sounds good, right? ☀️
One thing to note though: while it’s got this cool, relaxed vibe, it’s not the best spot for little ones. I know, I know, Austin loved bringing his kids there, but from what I’ve heard, it’s more of an adult-friendly venue. That said, the sister farm, KC Pumpkin Patch, is a fantastic family spot if you’re planning a day out with the kiddos. 🎃
So, in a nutshell, KC Wine Co is a gem 💎 – great drinks, food trucks, fun events, and friendly faces! Just remember to take the kids to the pumpkin patch instead! 😉 Now, who’s up for a trip to KC Wine Co? Let’s grab a slushie! 🍹 See you there! 🏃♀️💨

😀 Here’s my take on Top Hat Winery! 🍷 Popped in the other day, à la Shon, and just like him, I totally enjoyed myself! 🥳 The wine tasting was such a hoot, full of juicy details about each wine. Some of them were so good, I had to snag a couple of bottles! 🍾 And the service? Absolutely top-notch! 🌟
But let’s get real here. As my buddy Todd pointed out, the place looked a little bare, like it was midway through a remodel or something. 😕 But, despite the somewhat sparse surroundings, the staff was super friendly! I must say though, they were out of a few of their wines. 🍷🤷♀️
Now, not all the wines were hits, like that Jazz it Up wine that Celeste tried. Maybe not the best choice, but hey, they’ve got a big selection. Surely, there’s something for everyone! 😌
Oh, and you’ve got to meet Missy and Troy! 🥰 They’re the sweetest people, and have such unique wines. Brenna swears by them, and so do I. Missy and Troy also do this amazing slow-smoked BBQ that’s just chef’s kiss! 🍖👌 The wine tasting, by the way, was a delight. Just like Kimberly, I got to try a variety of flavors, and I must say, I was impressed. I even took home my favorite bottle. 🏡🍾
Katie, another fan of Top Hat, grabbed some wine for mother’s day and food to go – and it was delicious! The staff there is super nice and makes you feel right at home. 😊
The winery does a great job at keeping things fresh and exciting with their limited-time and seasonal offerings. As Adam mentioned, this definitely makes the trip worth it, again and again. 😄🔄
Now, the last time I stopped by, I had the pleasure of meeting Ronda. What a gem! 💎 Just like Kathryn, I was charmed by her friendliness and hospitality. And, oh my goodness, the Foxy Lady wine and loaded nachos are to die for! 🍷🍴😍
On a bit of a down note though, Meghan wasn’t too pleased with her experience. The BBQ seemed to have been reheated in a microwave and she suspected the potato salad was store-bought. That’s a bummer. 😔 But all in all, Top Hat Winery is a solid spot with some fantastic wines, great people, and a cozy atmosphere. Can’t wait to return! 🎩🍷👍
Pro Tip: Be sure to try their signature sweet red and white wine pairings, expertly selected by their knowledgeable staff. These pairings enhance the flavors of each wine and offer an unforgettable tasting experience.

Now, on to the best part – the wines! 🍷There are numerous types to choose from, ranging from dry to sweet. The wine flights are exceptional, especially the “walk up” flight. But don’t just stick to the list, go for the “choose your own” option – you’ll thank me later! It offers more options tailored to personal tastes. It’s clear that the owner, George Hoff, goes above and beyond to ensure the winery delivers only the finest. 👌
A standout was the wine slushies – oh man, you have to try these! 🍧 They’re refreshing, creative, and a fun way to enjoy wine. I even had the chance to try some ciders, and I must mention the hard cider with a hint of cinnamon. Simply put – it’s a knockout! 👊
In between sips, I also had the pleasure of meeting the local stars of the winery – two adorable dogs named Blaze and Scout. 🐕🦺🐕 They were the most perfect drinking companions one could ask for!
The winery also hosts live music events which you can enjoy along with your glass (or glasses) of wine. 🎵 As for food, I got to try some delectable dishes from the food trucks – they were a perfect match with the wines. 🥘 Now, let’s address the elephant in the room – the price. Yeah, some folks might find $8 for a can of beer a tad high. 🍺 But hey, it’s a winery, not a brewery! And trust me, the wine’s worth every penny.
Finally, the staff was consistently friendly and welcoming. I had the chance to meet some college kids who were there during their spring break, and they echoed my sentiments. They knew NOTHING about wine, yet the staff was patient and showed them a variety of wines with tasting notes. 🙌
So, if you’re in the Midwest, or planning a trip there, make sure to swing by the Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery. It’s not just a place to drink wine, but a place to experience it. See you there next time! 🍷😉
To fully appreciate the offerings at Stone Pillar Vineyard & Winery, it is recommended to sample their flight options which showcase a variety of their signature wines and hard ciders. This allows guests to explore a range of flavors in one sitting while also learning more about each individual beverage. Additionally, the knowledgeable staff is always on hand to provide guidance and answer any questions, ensuring a personalized and enriching experience.

Alrighty, my fellow wine aficionados! 🍇 Time to talk about my experience at the TerraVox Tasting Room! Buckle up ’cause this is gonna be a trip down the grapevine. 🍷🚗
As soon as I walked in, I noticed the lovely décor. It was comfy and inviting, you know? I even spotted the shared space with green dirt farms sheep dairy. 🐑
Now let’s dive into what we’re really here for: the wine! The complexity of flavors, guys. Whoa! 🤯 Every glass was like a little journey for my palate. I’m a sucker for drier varieties, and TerraVox did not disappoint. 🍷💕
But what about the tastings, you ask? Well, I’d be lying if I said they were huge. But size isn’t everything, right? 😏 The little sips I had were full of flavor.
Sure, there was some noise thanks to a party bus 🚌 that had rolled up, but hey, they were just enjoying themselves. Can’t blame ’em.
I also tried the charcuterie board 🧀🥖 from TerraVox and Green Dirt. What a delightful lunch! They had this wonderful cheese, and the wines we tried…Mmm, perfection! 😋 The servers were super helpful and guided us with great advice.
Now, on the flip side, there were some bumps on the road. Some folks seemed to have trouble with the staff’s knowledge of the wines. 🤔 And the price points were a touch higher than what you might expect, especially for the tastings.💰
But you know what? It’s all part of the adventure, isn’t it? Wine’s not just about the drink; it’s about the experience. 🌍🍷 And I gotta say, TerraVox gave me an experience I won’t forget.
So, would I go back? Heck yeah, I would! But then again, you might wanna check it out for yourself. 🧐 Cheers, my friends! 🥂🍷

Hey all, just wanted to share my two cents on the delightful Pirtle Winery. Let me start by saying, it’s the quintessential wine haven in the heart of Weston, Missouri! 🍷✨🏞️
First off, let’s talk about their wines. Good golly Miss Molly, the wines are phenomenal! They have something for everyone – from dessert wines, to their renowned honey mead, and even their raspberry mead that my friend Jake couldn’t stop raving about! 🍯🍷 I personally couldn’t resist their wine slushies. Absolutely a must-try! 🍧🍷
I’m particularly fond of their tasting sessions. This gal Sally was guiding us and boy, was she a bundle of joy and knowledge! She made the whole experience even more delightful. On top of that, their pricing is super reasonable, so you can savor to your heart’s content without burning a hole in your pocket. 💸👌
The winery’s nestled in an old church structure, which adds a unique aesthetic appeal. That, combined with a well-shaded and cooled seating area makes it a serene spot for sipping and savoring. 🏛️💕
Now, I must admit, there were a few times when the customer service felt a tad bit off, especially when it got busy. My friend Chad and I felt somewhat overlooked once, but hey, we’re all human and it happens, right? 🤷♀️
To top it all off, they have this mind-blowing deal – a delightful basket of fresh hot Italian bread, summer sausage, apple, two kinds of cheese, and a bottle of wine, all for under $40! 😍🥖🧀🍷 And if you’re a nature lover like my buddy Brandon, you’d love the hiking spots nearby. Makes for an ideal “hike & wine” day! 🌳🚶♂️
So, all in all, Pirtle Winery is a stellar spot for wine enthusiasts looking to enjoy a fun day out, or even for those simply looking for a beautiful place to unwind and indulge! Cheers, folks! 🍷🌟🎉
P.S.: Do bring your bestie along like my pal Hurlicia did. I bet you’ll have the best time taking selfies on the deck. 📸👯♀️

You ever stumble upon a hidden gem and feel like you’ve won the lottery? That’s Ladoga Ridge Winery for me! It’s this cozy little winery tucked away right next to the airport in Smithville, Missouri 🌳. It’s small but oh-so lively, especially on Friday nights when everyone seems to be swirling glasses of some of the most interesting and tasty wine around.
Seriously, those grapes are something else! I couldn’t recognize them but boy did they make the wine a standout 🍇. The owners, Leinda and Galen, are super friendly and always bustling around with their equally awesome staff, making sure everything’s perfect. The wine selection is varied and offers something for every taste bud, but a peach wine slushy? That’s a winner right there! 🍑🍷❄️
Now let’s talk about the ambiance. Picture this: sipping wine on a patio, overlooking a beautiful vineyard with live music serenading you in the background 🎵. The indoor seating is equally impressive – spacious, warm, and inviting. Perfect for when you want to escape the outdoor chill.
And while you’re basking in the glow of the setting sun, don’t forget to check out their fire pits. Perfect for those chillier nights when you just want to huddle around a fire with friends, wine glass in hand 🔥.
I was also surprised to find out that it’s quite a hotspot for wedding photographers! And why wouldn’t it be? The grounds are stunning and the vineyard rows make for such beautiful and romantic photos 📸.
One little hiccup though, I wish they had a larger selection of cheese, meats, and snacks to go with the wine. I’m a cheese fanatic too and love a good cheese and wine pairing 🧀. But hey, they’re working on it!
All in all, Ladoga Ridge is a place you’d want to keep coming back to. Be it for the intriguing wines, the friendly atmosphere, or the stunning views, it’s got something for everyone. Can’t wait to go back there when summer’s in full swing. Ladoga Ridge, you’ve got a fan in me! 🙌💕

It’s the kind of place where you could lose track of time, drinking wine, hanging out with friends, and just soaking in the relaxed atmosphere. 🍷
I tried their local wine, and wow, it’s just great! They provide an excellent service, and you get an impressive amount of information about their products. Not to mention, it’s super pet-friendly! 🐕
There was even a food truck on-site, serving up some seriously scrumptious snacks. I had a fantastic charcuterie board – it paired perfectly with their wines. 🧀 They have some awesome treats from local businesses, which added a special touch to the whole experience.
The live music was the icing on the cake, setting a pleasant backdrop and making the ambiance just perfect. 🎵 I must say the staff deserve a special shout-out. They are super friendly and go out of their way to make sure you have the best time. Oh, and the owner is such a delight!
Speaking of wines, the tasting was one of the best parts of my visit. It was not only fun but also incredibly informative. 🥂 They had a fantastic selection of wines – I particularly loved the Citron. So good!

Well, where do I even start? This place was a sheer treat for the senses! 🎉
When I first rolled up to this hidden gem, I was instantly swept away by its charm. The lush vineyard sprawling out before me, a quaint little pond 🌊, and a stunning natural rock patio. It was like stepping into a postcard! 😍
I’d heard tales about their fabulous events and was lucky enough to attend a party at the vineyard. Boy, did they pull out all the stops! 🥳 The event space was huge, well lit with natural light, and the staff were super attentive, friendly, and made everyone feel right at home. One friend, let’s call him Mitchell, even said it was a bit out of the way but totally worth the trip!
We got to enjoy some time outside, basking in the sun ☀️ and savoring the lovely view. The seating options were perfect – both indoor and outdoor, allowing us to get cozy and make the most of the beautiful day.
But let’s not forget about the wine! 🍷 I was impressed with the range they offered. As a newly-minted wine lover, I had so much to learn and the owner was just so knowledgeable. He shared the secrets of winemaking with us, which only made me fall in love with the world of wine even more.❤️️
There were a couple of minor hiccups – the staff seemed a bit busy, and the samples could have been a touch more generous. But, hey, nobody’s perfect! The overall vibe was super relaxed, just what you want when you’re kicking back with a glass of wine. 🍾
And then, there was the murder mystery event! I’m telling you, these folks know how to put on a show. It was an absolute blast! 🕵️♀️

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 Oh, the places you’ll go, and Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen is definitely one of them! 😄 Grabbed dinner here with a few pals (John, Susan, and Timmy) and had an absolutely stellar time! The ambiance was just spot-on, the kind that relaxes you instantly. 🍷💖
Let’s start with the food – oh, the food! 👌 The lamb, filet mignon, and summer spinach salad were to die for! The Amish chicken was a revelation, while the short ribs (even if they seemed suspiciously like chuck roast 🤔) were simply mouthwatering. Don’t even get me started on the desserts – the peanut butter cookie is the stuff of dreams! 🍪😍
Now, the wine – phenomenal! 🍷 I mean, who would have thought a wine flight could be so amazing? Our server, Caleb (shout out to the best server EVER! 🙌), curated an epic wine flight that paired perfectly with our meals. He nailed it! The only downside was the single Old World Madeira option, but hey, you can’t win them all, right?
Speaking of staff, they know their stuff! 🎓 The knowledge of food and drinks was top-notch, but they struggled a bit when our group expanded to around 50 people (hey, we’re popular 😎). Some drinks orders got goofed up and the food was slow in coming out. Still, we’re all human, and mistakes happen, right? 🤷♀️
If you’re on the hunt for a vibe that screams ‘fancy date night’, this is your spot!💑💃🏻 However, the content on the TV screens was a bit, well, odd for a wine bar/restaurant… 📺🤨
In the end, you’ve got to check out Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen! It’s worth every penny, and your tastebuds will thank you! Just remember – never skip dessert! 🍰👍 See you there, folks! 🥂🍾🎉

I walked into Ça Va for the first time, and oh boy, did I fall in love at first sight! 😍 This place is phenomenal! It’s a quaint little spot with a lively and chatty atmosphere that instantly wraps you in its cozy embrace. 🏠
While the place was buzzing, the service was absolutely on point. Major props to our server, Brittany, who was absolutely stellar. She even helped us navigate the menu with her spectacular knowledge. 🙌🏼
Now let’s talk about the food! I tried a sandwich (won’t even attempt to pronounce the name 😂) for brunch and it was delish! The mimosas, too, were super refreshing. And you cannot miss the croissants, they’re to die for! 😋 But you’d want to make a reservation because the wait times can be a bit long.
The wine selection, though, felt a bit limited. 🍷 There’s definitely room for improvement there. Also, they could do with a little more cleaning. There were some dusty corners and cobwebs. One thing I must mention is the patio – it’s a gorgeous space. Especially on the day I visited, they had a string trio playing some fantastic music. It added to the whole charm of the place. 🎻
It’s true that the place leans on the pricier side. But you know what they say, quality doesn’t come cheap! And Ça Va is worth every penny. 💸 One small thing, though, they could be more festive for special occasions. Visited on my birthday and all I got was a “Happy Birthday”. A complimentary dessert or drink would have been a nice touch. 🎂
However, despite some minor hiccups, Ça Va holds a special place in my heart. It’s been many visits since my first and it’s always very good. 💕 Oh, and before I forget, the water. Possibly the best cold water I’ve had. Balanced, smooth, and flavorful. Yes, I just described water. That’s how good it was! 💧
So, all in all, a visit to Ça Va is an experience I would highly recommend. Just keep in mind to make a reservation, and be ready for a wonderful time! 🌟
An interesting historical fact about Ça Va is that it was established by local wine enthusiasts with a passion for creating an inviting space where people could gather to enjoy excellent drinks. It quickly gained popularity among wine lovers in Westport and has since become synonymous with indulgence and sophistication in Kansas City’s wine scene.

It was truly an unforgettable evening.”

Oh, where do I even start with Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant? As a bit of a foodie (OK, a big foodie 😋), I’ve had some memorable dining experiences in my time, but our visits to Cooper’s Hawk really take the cake… or should I say, the pretzel-covered pork chops? 😉
On one occasion, my buddy ‘Dustin’ and I decided to go all out. Dustin was raving about the Surf and Turf, and boy, was he right. Parmesan crusted filet medallions and drunken shrimp – I’m salivating just thinking about it. If I were on death row, this would be my last meal, hands down! And the atmosphere? The perfect balance of classy and relaxed. 🌟
My good friend ‘Shiona’ chose the spaghetti and meatballs, which she’d heard came with a side of magic… OK, it was actually burrata, but the effect was pretty much the same. According to her, it was like taking a bite out of heaven! And I have to mention the Thai Lettuce Wraps. Another pal, ‘Ashli’, introduced them to me, and they were an instant hit. Seriously, if you’re at Cooper’s Hawk and don’t order these, you’re missing out. 😱
The wine, of course, deserves its own paragraph. ‘Robert’ and I went for a flight of wine, and each glass was more fantastic than the last. We tasted a variety of options, and let me tell you, there was not a dud in the bunch. If you’re in the mood for adventure, definitely give it a shot! 🍷
I’ve got to give a shout-out to Reilly, who led a wine tasting that my mate ‘Joshua’ and I attended. She made it fun, unique, and adventurous. Joshua and I have done quite a few wine tastings at Cooper’s Hawk, but this was by far the most interesting one. Way to go, Reilly! 👏
Last but not least, the service. It was nothing short of impeccable every time. ‘Alison’ and I went for a date night and our server was the perfect blend of attentive and respectful of our space. It really elevated the whole experience.
In short, if you’re in Kansas City and looking for a fantastic meal, excellent wines, and top-notch service, look no further than Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant. Your tastebuds will thank you! 🎉 To sum it up in three words? Divine culinary journey. 🥂👌💖
